Our Club
Lancaster Amateur Radio Club is an ARRL-affiliated amateur radio organization serving Western New York. The club has one of the largest amateur radio clubs in the area and describes itself as one of the largest and most active amateur radio clubs in the region.
Members participate in emergency management, radiosport, public-service events, technical projects, operating activities and social events.
Our Clubhouse
The W2SO clubhouse is located at the Town of Lancaster complex at 525 Pavement Road, toward the end of the south driveway. It includes four HF operating stations—three with Icom IC-7600 transceivers and the fourth with a Yaesu FTDX3000—plus computer-supported operating capability, a repair/work area, meeting space and high-speed Wi-Fi.

Our History
March 12, 1987
The Lancaster Amateur Radio Club was founded on March 12, 1987, by five amateur radio operators: Luke Calianno, N2GDU — Founder and first President; Dick Haungs, W2UJR — Founder and Secretary, Silent Key; Louis Esposito, N2SFZ — Founder and Vice President, Silent Key; Matt Gorski, NS2M — Founder, Silent Key; and Alvin Petry, KE2AJ — Founder and Treasurer, Silent Key.
First Meeting
More than twenty amateur radio operators attended the inaugural meeting at the Lancaster School Building on Central Avenue.
