Club members also participate in public-service and emergency activities, including the New York State Police Pumpkin Patrol in cooperation with Erie County ARES/RACES.
At the end of 2025, LARC installed an internet-connected clubhouse weather station using funds from an Erie County grant received in 2024. It reports temperature, rainfall, wind speed/direction, pressure and other conditions and is listed online as Lancaster ARES.
