W2SO activated the buoy tender at Dunkirk Lighthouse. The club trailer provided burgers and hot dogs for Saturday lunch and dinner; attendees could bring a dish to pass. Free camping was available. Members could bring radio equipment or visit, and donations for the lighthouse caretakers were requested.
Operators planned relay stations from downtown Buffalo through Letchworth State Park to track and report the train. Operators needed a radio capable of reaching the club repeater and a clear view of the train. Contact listed: sal_zarbo@yahoo.com.
9:00–11:00 AM at Chestnut Ridge Park. East Coast Reflector-sponsored amateur-radio meetup with license testing, events, food, prizes and conversation.
Activity ran from 4:00 PM Friday through 4:00 PM Sunday, with camping, visiting and operating. LARC provided Saturday lunch and dinner. Participants could use club radios/antennas or bring their own equipment and were encouraged to help with event tasks.
