The Lancaster Amateur Radio Club has a unique partnership with the historic Dunkirk Lighthouse, which remains in active Coast Guard use. Commissioned in 1826, it has served Lake Erie mariners for nearly two centuries.
W2SO provides communications and special-event stations for lighthouse-sponsored activities. During the third full weekend of August, club members camp at the lighthouse and operate for International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend (ILLW).

The club has also activated the Coast Guard buoy tender CG-45313 for Museum Ships Weekend.
