Club Events in June

Info-Net Updates

There will be no Monday Night Info-Net tomorrow due to the Memorial Day holiday. Take time to remember those who gave their all. Please note that node check-ins will no longer use the Supermon page; instead, check-ins will be called using the standard call prefix letter system (e.g., A, B/C- Batavia/Corfu, K, N, W) in varying orders.

Upcoming Events & Activities

  • Museum Ship Weekend (June 5–7) @ Dunkirk Lighthouse

    • Activity: Activating the Buoy Tender to make radio contacts.

    • Food & Lodging: Club trailer will provide burgers and hot dogs for Saturday lunch and dinner (feel free to bring a dish to pass). Free camping is available.

    • Participation: Bring your own radio gear or just visit. Attendees are expected to pitch in and help. Donations are requested for the lighthouse caretakers.

  • Big Boy Train Chase -Radio Relay 

    • Activity: Setting up radio relay stations from downtown Buffalo through Letchworth State Park to track and report the Big Boy train’s movement.

    • Requirements: Operators just need a radio that can reach the club repeater and a clear view of the train.

  • ECR Meet n GREET (June 20, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM) @ Chestnut Ridge Park

    • A general meetup sponsored by the East Coast Reflector for all ham radio enthusiasts (not club-specific). Features license testing, events, food, prizes, and conversation.

  • Field Day (June 26–28)

    • Activity: Running from 4:00 PM Friday to 4:00 PM Sunday. Open for camping, visiting, and operating. More info coming soon.

    • Details: LARC will provide lunch and dinner on Saturday. Participants can bring their own gear or use club radios/antennas. Helping out with tasks is expected from club members who are able to.
